Alien: Isolation 2 is scheduled to launch in 2027, promising to revisit the terror of the series’ iconic alien.

At the Lucca Comics and Games Festival, IGN interviewed the game’s creative director Al Hope. He explained that the team intends to stay within the survival horror genre, emphasizing the “window of the timeline where just one alien can be absolutely terrifying.”

The original Alien: Isolation (2014) featured engineer Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Ellen Ripley, as she searched Sevastopol Station for clues about her mother’s disappearance. While Andrea Deck, the voice of Ripley, appeared in a press demo for the sequel, Hope stressed that the new title will focus on a different lead.

According to Hope, “you’re playing as a new character in Isolation 2… She works for the company; she hasn’t encountered the creature before. And so yeah, I guess we’re super excited about Blake.”

Blake is described as a manager at Weyland‑Yutani who has just arrived on planet LV‑921. Her objective is to locate the laboratory that Amanda Ripley jettisoned from Sevastopol Station, a site that still contains a xenomorph.

Further details, including discussions on xenomorph design, the appearance of the first game’s save stations in Alien: Romulus, and the games’ status within the official Alien canon, are available in the full interview with Al Hope and project art director Ana Sopikova.
