Halloween Boost Fuels Surge at Hong Kong’s Wine and Dine Festival

Vendors say the festival’s first weekend saw noticeably larger crowds and higher sales, helped by Halloween festivities and late‑night hours.
Exhibitors at Hong Kong’s Wine and Dine Festival are buzzing about a clear lift in footfall and sales as the event entered its first weekend, coinciding with Halloween celebrations.
Excitement is palpable as revellers flock to the festival, seeking alternatives to the city’s nightlife hotspot Lan Kwai Fong.
Several vendors noted that visitor numbers on Saturday were noticeably higher than during the opening two days of the four‑day programme.
Henry Leung, a staff member with food and beverage importer Unicube, said business at his booth was about 20 percent higher than at the same time last year, with the evening’s peak expected after 8 pm.
Organisers kept the doors open until 1 am, a move that appears to have encouraged late‑night crowds and contributed to the upbeat mood among participants.
While some exhibitors expressed cautious optimism about sales amid a challenging retail environment, the overall trend points to a promising start for the festival’s remaining days.
