Melania‑brokered Kherson truce set to expire Sunday

The longest cease‑fire of the Ukraine war, limited to Kherson and arranged by Melania Trump, ends Sunday evening without a renewal.
The longest truce of the Ukraine war, brokered by US First Lady Melania Trump, is slated to end Sunday evening. The pause, which began early on Tuesday, covered only the Kherson region and was not renewed by either side.
The lull enabled a humanitarian mission to the Russian‑occupied city of Oleshky.
A senior Ukrainian official told Agence France‑Presse that Ukraine had offered to extend the cease‑fire, which is due to expire later on Sunday.
With no announcement of an extension, the truce will conclude as scheduled.
