Ollie AI Assistant to Shut Down Next Week

Ollie, the privacy‑focused AI assistant startup, announced it will cease operations on November 6.
Ollie, a startup that marketed an AI assistant built around user privacy, said it will shut down in a week, with the final closure slated for November 6.
Bill Lennon, the company’s co‑founder and CEO, posted the announcement on X on Friday. He expressed pride in the team’s work and gratitude to users, investors, and supporters.
The text‑based assistant entered a crowded market that has exploded over the past year as increasingly powerful models have made such tools more useful for daily tasks.
Ollie had disclosed a $7.5 million seed round led by Khosla Ventures in September, and it operated on a subscription model. The service aimed to help families stay connected and organized, linking to email and calendar while offering features for appointment booking, meal planning, and bill payments, with future plans for household budgeting.
Notably, Ollie was among the first mainstream apps to achieve SOC 2 certification, an independent audit‑based privacy compliance standard.
Lennon said the influx of competitors such as Muse and Instinct made it harder to stand out, grow, and secure the capital needed to succeed.
Customers will be provided with instructions on how to export their data and receive refunds in the coming days.
