Phantom Blade Zero has officially become the next big thing, according to developer S‑Game.

The wuxia‑themed action game surpassed a major milestone by selling 4 million copies within the first 72 hours of its release.

The official X/Twitter account announced the achievement with a heartfelt note: “Thank you everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support!”

From day one, the title proved a “beast,” jumping ahead of Steam’s biggest games—including PUBG and Dota 2—and topping the Steam charts as soon as it launched.

It also claimed the top spot for revenue on Steam, beating Modern Warfare 4, Aion 2 and the viral cyberpunk shopkeeper sim Probably Stolen.

Steam’s concurrent player count peaked on Sunday at a staggering 833,921 players.

Last week, estimates indicated that Phantom Blade Zero had already sold over 1 million copies before launch across Steam, PS5 and Tencent’s WeGame storefront.

Nearly two‑thirds of those pre‑launch sales came from China, Taiwan, or Hong Kong.

IGN’s review awarded the game a 9/10, praising it as “an unbelievably smooth action game filled with memorable boss fights, compelling combat, and limitless swagger.”

While the launch numbers are impressive, they remain below the record set by Black Myth: Wukong, which moved 10 million units in its first three days.

The lead character is voiced by Roger Craig Smith, known for roles such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Ezio Auditore, Batman and Chris Redfield.

He is joined by Maggie Robertson, recognized for her performance as Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil 7.

Donnie Yen contributed as a key creative consultant and performed full facial, voice and motion capture for the character Mó Yuan (Soul’s father).

Fans can also find a “Things Phantom Blade Zero Doesn’t Tell You” list, a step‑by‑step walkthrough in progress, and guides covering weapons, accessories and phantom edges.

Phantom Blade Zero’s explosive start underscores its status as a monster hit in the gaming market.
