Strategy Resumes Bitcoin Buying with $66 Million Purchase

Strategy announced a $65.5 million Bitcoin purchase, ending a one‑week pause in its acquisition program.
Strategy disclosed on Monday that it has resumed buying Bitcoin after a one‑week pause, acquiring 811 BTC for a total of $65.5 million.
The purchase was financed by selling 1,178,552 shares of MSTR stock, generating $164 million in net proceeds, according to an SEC filing. Of those proceeds, $65.5 million went to the Bitcoin purchase and $98.5 million was placed in the company’s USD Cash account.
During the week of October 26 to November 1, the Bitcoin treasury paid an average price of $80,846 per coin.
Key Financial Moves
Bitcoin holdings now total 849,327 BTC, acquired for $64.08 billion at an average cost of about $75,451 per coin.
Strategy repurchased 2,092,035 shares of its variable‑rate preferred stock, STRC, for $208.2 million, all paid from USD Cash.
The USD Cash pool fell to $132.7 million from $242.4 million a week earlier.
The separate USD Reserve, used for preferred dividends and debt interest, stands at $4.79 billion after a $43.4 million dividend payout.
About $748.6 million remains available for future preferred‑stock repurchases.
Combined USD assets are now $4.9 billion, and the company’s “USD Duration” – a measure of how long those assets can cover dividends and interest – is 3.3 years, as noted in a company tweet.
Dividend and Index Updates
Shareholders approved daily dividends on Strategy’s four preferred stocks last week, with STRC’s first daily record date set for November 1.
Mizuho Financial Group kept its Outperform rating and $165 price target on MSTR after the third‑quarter earnings call, citing a stronger balance sheet with net leverage down to 2.4 % from 8.4 %.
Analyst Dan Dolev warned of dilution concerns, pointing out that Bitcoin per share has fallen 3.7 % this year.
Strategy also faces a possible removal from MSCI’s equity indexes under a rule finalized in October that excludes companies dominated by a single asset; MSCI will release the final list on November 11.
Overall, Strategy’s renewed Bitcoin buying and active preferred‑stock repurchases highlight its ongoing balance‑sheet management amid evolving market and regulatory conditions.
