Jaylen Brown Keeps His Boston Skyrise Apartment—and Its 18th‑Century Harp

NBA star Jaylen Brown remains in his Boston loft, where an 18th‑century harp and a bespoke interior design reflect his unique lifestyle.
Harboring an 18th‑Century Harp
Jaylen Brown, the 30‑year‑old NBA player, has an 18th‑century harp prominently placed in his living room. “Most of the time I use my harp, it’s just me and my chef,” he says, adding that the instrument feels like a form of therapy.
The harp is not a novelty; Brown often plays it alone, and a professional harpist appears when the mood strikes, turning the loft into a personal concert hall.
Boston Home, Philadelphia Career
On July 1, 2026, Brown’s trade from Boston to Philadelphia made headlines, ending his nine‑year stint alongside Jayson Tatum. Despite the move, he retained his Boston skyrise apartment.
“It’s no beef,” Brown told reporters after a victory, his beard glistening. He hinted at future meals with “a little lamb chops and gravy,” and emphasized staying ready.
Just 23 days later, his new teammate was announced as LeBron James, forming a historically strong starting five.
Design Details of the Loft
The apartment’s foyer features walls painted in a slate hue from Benjamin Moore, and a custom table displays Brown’s championship trophy.
In the living area, a Hamilton sofa surrounds coffee tables, while a floor lamp adds ambient light. The centerpiece remains the antique harp.
Brown’s speakeasy area showcases artwork by Francisco Valverde, flanked by sconces, with curtain fabric and star ceiling lights adding flair.
Creating a Personal Sanctuary
Brown grew up in Boston from age 19 to 29, saying, “I developed here in Boston as a young man.” The city even named October 24, his birthday, as Jaylen Brown Day.
He hired Linda Zarifi of Zarifi Design to bring his vision to life. “The first thing he said was ‘I don’t want a dining table,’” Zarifi recalls. “And I’m like, ‘Where are you going to…eat?’”
The solution was a 22‑foot banquette upholstered in suede, accompanied by custom glass and metal tables and sling dining chairs. Wall sconces illuminate the space, and a city proclamation for Jaylen Brown Day is framed on the wall.
Brown often relaxes at the banquette, playing chess and enjoying the view of his curated home.
With his cat Forky perched nearby, Brown’s Boston loft stands as a testament to his personal style and his commitment to keeping a piece of his past while forging a new NBA chapter.
