Newcastle’s Home Woes Deepen as Fans Roar in Disapproval

A 1‑0 loss to Everton left Newcastle United’s fans shouting boos and highlighted mounting frustrations for manager Matthias Jaissle.
Another night of disappointment at St James’ Park.
Everton edged Newcastle United 1‑0, delivering a performance that left the Toon Army chanting boos at the final whistle.
The match featured a goalkeeping howler by Lukas Horníček and a red card shown to substitute Jacob Ramsey, compounding a blunt attacking display.
“Big frustration, big disappointment,” said manager Matthias Jaissle after his fourth defeat in six Premier League games.
“After a performance like that I can understand the reaction from the fans. That’s the reality and I am responsible for that. We need to work on the things we need to improve and after today that is a lot.”
Jaissle added that unity and togetherness are the only way forward as his side prepares for the final game before the November international break.
The Magpies travel to Fulham on Saturday at 15:00 GMT, then host league leaders Arsenal on 21 November, followed by an away clash with third‑placed Brighton eight days later.
“It’s not my first time as a manager in this situation,” Jaissle said, noting that Newcastle sit 13th in the table and were eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Everton last Thursday.
Newcastle have now lost seven home games in 2026, the most by any Premier League side this year, and have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 14 home league matches – a record run in the club’s history.
They have also lost 16 of their past 18 league games when conceding the first goal.
Will the German, who became the Premier League’s second‑youngest coach in the summer, find the solutions to steer Newcastle back on track before fans’ patience runs out?
